These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Pinch (the "Service"), operated by Pinch ("we," "our," or "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Pinch.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Pinch. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement. If you are under 18, you represent that a parent or guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.

Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us promptly at [email protected] if you suspect any unauthorized use of your account.

You may not create an account on behalf of someone else, impersonate any person, or use a username that is offensive, misleading, or infringes on another party's rights.

Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to use Pinch to:

• Post content that is false, misleading, defamatory, or harmful
• Harass, threaten, or abuse other users
• Spam, scrape, or use automated tools to access the Service
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service
• Post content that infringes on any patent, trademark, copyright, or other intellectual property right
• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose

We reserve the right to remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, at our sole discretion.

Our Intellectual Property

The Pinch name, logo, app design, and all related branding are the exclusive property of Pinch. Nothing in these Terms grants you a right to use our trademarks, logos, or other proprietary materials without our prior written consent.

Disclaimer of Warranties

Pinch is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. Recipes posted by users have not been tested or verified by Pinch — always use your own judgment when cooking.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Pinch shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to damages arising from reliance on any recipe, ingredient, or cooking instruction posted by users.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you via email or in-app notification. Continued use of Pinch after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the applicable courts of the United States.

Overview

Pinch ("we," "our," or "us") is a recipe-first social network designed to help people share and discover recipes from friends and creators they trust. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you use the Pinch mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service").

Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly to us and information generated through your use of the Service.

Information you provide:

• Account information: your name, email address, username, and profile photo
• Recipe content: recipes, photos, ingredient lists, and instructions you post
• Social interactions: likes, saves, comments, follows, and "I Made This" markers
• Communications: messages or feedback you send us directly
• Waitlist information: your email address if you request early access

Information collected automatically:

• Device information: device type, operating system, and unique device identifiers
• Usage data: features you interact with, recipes you view, searches you perform
• Log data: IP address, access times, pages viewed, and app crashes

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to provide, maintain, and improve the Service, including to:

• Create and manage your account
• Deliver your social feed — recipes from people you follow
• Send you notifications about activity on your content and account
• Power search and discovery features within the app
• Respond to your comments, questions, and support requests
• Send transactional emails such as invite confirmations and account updates
• Monitor and improve app performance and stability
• Detect and prevent fraud, spam, or abuse

We do not sell your personal information to third parties, and we do not use your data to serve you targeted advertising.

Sharing of Information

Your profile and the content you post on Pinch (recipes, photos, comments) are visible to other users within the app according to your privacy settings. We do not share your personal information with third parties except in the following circumstances:

• Service providers: We share information with vendors who help us operate the Service, including cloud hosting (Supabase), image storage (Cloudflare), and analytics. These providers are contractually required to protect your data.
• Legal requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Pinch, our users, or the public.
• Business transfers: If Pinch is acquired or merges with another company, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

Data Retention

We retain your account information and content for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or safety reasons.

Waitlist email addresses are retained until you request removal or until we notify you regarding your access status.

Your Choices & Rights

You have the following rights with respect to your information:

• Access: You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Correction: You may update or correct inaccurate information through the app settings
• Deletion: You may request deletion of your account and associated data
• Opt-out: You may opt out of non-essential communications by following the unsubscribe instructions in any email we send
• Portability: You may request an export of your recipe content in a portable format

Children's Privacy

Pinch is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. However, no internet transmission or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
